I'm sure I don't have to tell you the basics, but here goes. A cage, at least 24x24.If you really want to spoil them get a 2 level they loved them!If the rabbit is going to be outside, get a hutch from Petsmart they are wonderful and will keep them safe.
*Water bottle, I like the ones with the ball inside, much easier for them to drink from.
*Crock, or bowl for their food. I like the crocks better because they can't turn them over.
*Feed, I buy my feed from Southern States but if you dont have room to store a 25LB bag, you don't have to go there, but it is so much cheaper. Also, Rabbits don't need all that other stuff in their feed. Plain rabbit pellets are fine.
*Hay, they LOVE hay! Don't worry about getting the hay holders, its a waste of money. Just put a handful in everyday if possible. 2 litter pans to start the training process.(Walmart)
I know the little beds are cute, but believe me you'll end up washing it everyday...(I did it too!) Spend that money on something for them to chew on,or you can always use pine cones. It helps their teeth.
I know bringing your rabbit home for the first time is SO exciting, Just please know that you have just taken that bunny away from all it has ever known, so he/she may be quite scared. When you come home, put the rabbit in its cage and them him/her explore and get used to it's new surroundings. After a few hours ,then cuddle with your rabbit. If you have small children (and I know this is hard) tell them to speak softly, and be gentle so they will not scare the rabbit. After a few days the rabbit will be adjusted. If your rabbits starts having loose bowels, this is normal. Just feed the rabbit hay and it should get better. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
